shroom burger

It's the best vegeterian burger so far!

Being my first veggie burger (got it?), it has surely exceeded my expectations. I'm a meat lover... so it's very hard to compare this to a "real" burger. I was between giving this a 7 or 8 star. I felt the pressure of the SHAKE SHACK burger kingdom in New York. However, 7 it is! Mainly cause it was all gone in 60 seconds!

Don't get me wrong... it's very good! But if you're hungry, you might as well order 3 of the... (let me quote...) "crisp-fried portobello filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce" burger.... mmmmmmmmm!

I will go back to Shake Shack. Next time I'll get the Shack Stack (cheeseburger + shroomburger). I guess I missed this on the menu due to the Thanksgiving Eve drinks I had.

pulled pork sandwich on a brioche bun (Fred's) 8★

pulled pork sandwich on a brioche bun

Ok, so first of all... does this classify as a burger? It's cooked meat in a bun... so why not?!

It's good
It's tasty and
It's messy!

I don't know how the pulled pork is cooked, it's marinated in something that surely makes this burger/sandwich worth having! The side salad and fries were fresh and crunchy. Why 8 star? Maybe cause I'm still not convinced on whether we can call this a burger. If this is reviewed on godblesssandwiches.com then it would definitely get a tenner!

The place is surely unique, friendly service with lots and lots of dogs! It's ok... they're all hanging on the walls!

Note that the pulled pork sandwich is only available in the twilight and dinner menu (i.e. 3:30pm onwards).

minetta burger

10:30pm - reservations only... try again in half an hour
11:15pm - not even at the bar... the place is still packed
12:00am - yeah!

Well Mr DJ Scooter, this time the catch was better than the chase! Another 9 star burger. Well worth the wait. This is the fine dining of burgers (and other stuff). The choice was between the $16 Minetta burger and the $26 Black Label burger. Yes, $26! Of course, I went for the $16 one.

A medium cooked eight-n-half ounce patty with caramelized onions and cheddar cheese.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! The patty was like a purpetta. It had the homemade burger feeling. I doubt if it was really eight-n-half ounces. But, to be honest, it doesn't really matter!

As you can see from the pic, this time I opted for the side salad instead of fries, the healthier option... which was good as well!

The place was really nice. Good music. The staff was very friendly. And I'm really considering to go back and try the Black Label one. Vive la crise économique!

chargrilled burger with roquefort cheese and shoestrings

Recommended by my dear American friend, Heather, and now also recommended by "God". It's all about the roquefort I think. I mean, the whole combination is just great...
the patty was very juicy...
the shoestrings... a perfect side to a delicious burger...
not to forget the lager heh...
but the roquefort... hmmm... a strong cheese... just the right dose to enjoy this chargrilled burger!

The place was definitely the best so far. Beautifully decorated, very warm, and in one of the best neighborhoods of Manhattan, West Village.

A much well deserved 9 star... especially after the mexican one... and if you thought I was joking about being scared of "what goes in has to come out"... I wish!

mexican burger (George's New York) 6★

$6.75
George's New York

mexican burger

Ok... so Mexican's do not only do housekeeping... they also prepare burgers!

Feeling the pressure of reaching my target, I was forced to go out and have another burger... so I literally picked up the closest bistro/restaurant/any place that does burgers. Yeah! Why not try George's?! So I looked at the take-out menu... I looked at the cashier... I looked at the chef... mexican... mexican... mexican... easy pick!

The difference from other burgers? JALAPENOS!

Overall it was a good one. A bit too many jalapenos maybe. The problem is: tomorrow! Since, as you know, what goes in... has to come out! No need to go into anymore detail ey?!

Patty was good.
Cheese... it was cheddar... nothing special of course, but ok.

Why 6? Just so that the "brgr" one stays last for now!

original 5 napkin burger

Wohoooo! This is why I came to New York! Very difficult to beat. As my friend George Jung used to say... "this is a 280g Grade A 100% pure New York ladies and gentlemen... Disco shit."

The patty was cooked to perfection.
The toppings: Comte cheese, caramelized onions, rosemary aioli... lovely!
The fries... bully as well!

I just want to go again and again!

Good job 5 napkin! I just don't know why I did't give you a 10... maybe cause I'm just waiting for that burger joint where a naked Angelina Jolie serves me the same burger. Oh well...

the blue sky brgr

Well... I guess most of the reviews on this place are right... "One bite into this burger and the image of a McDonald's $.99 cent hamburger comes to mind." Okey... so this may be a bit exaggerated , but for $10 this was pretty small. Good taste for the grass fed beef. This made me google what cows usually eat?! Quite interesting to know what my fellow friends have in their menu... chicken feathers, blood, pork, fish, and soybeans... hmmmm... read more on

http://www.notmilk.com/forum/859.html

What else did I have... the onion hay (had too much oil dripping... and this made me walk all the way home to make up for it... an hours walk)... and the black and white (chocolate and vanilla) shake... good... very good... and probably pushed me to give this burger a better rating!
